What should I do this summer? This is a common question I’m asked by my high school clients. The answer of course varies depending on their interests, financial situation, and, this year more than most, what’s available.
One great option for everyone is to take a summer class. A plus side to the distance learning implemented by many colleges this spring is that many programs that wouldn’t have been feasible before because you had to be on campus to participate are now available to students online.
Programs range from science to history to writing to art. Some are for college credit and some just for fun. They are taught by Harvard professors and Serena Williams. The important thing is they give high school students a chance to learn a new skill or topic, build their knowledge, and/or test out a potential major.
